On April 29th 2005, Gebrüder TROX GmbH acquired the Auranor Group retrospectively to January 1st 2005.TROX hereby gains access to the absolute market leader in Norway with a strong beachhead in Sweden. A confidentiality agreement on the purchase price has been declared with the former owner Stormbull Invest AS (Oslo). „With the acquisition of Auranor we distinctly strengthen our position in Norway and Sweden. Furthermore, the Auranor product portfolio opens up additional growth po-tential for our successful sales company in Denmark and our agent Teknocalor in Finland. The product ranges and the technical competence of both companies com-plement one another perfectly,” stated the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Gebrüder TROX GmbH, Dr. Helmut Franzen. „After the last successful development of a new market in China” (an own production company has been established there), “TROX’s growth rate will be continued through the acquisition of the Auranor Group is Scandinavia,” said Thomas Humpf, Divisional Manager, International Operations. “Scandinavia is one of the largest markets for the ventilation and air conditioning industry in Europe and to that effect is of great signifi-cance to TROX,” Mr. Humpf continued. Tore Holthe, the Chairman of the Auranor Gruppen AS, sees the new owners in a positive light: “TROX has the same strategy as Auranor, namely to supply components and complete systems for ventilation and air conditioning facilities in public buildings and in commercial and industrial constructions. We at Auranor consider this the best possibility to secure our position as market leader in Norway and to expand our posi-tion in the other Scandinavian markets jointly with TROX”. The Auranor Group is market leader in Norway with 120 employees and a turnover of 120 million NOK (approx. 15 million €) and is represented in Sweden by a subsidiary company. The product portfolio incorporates a wide range of air diffusers, control units and VAV systems. TROX is market leader in Germany and, with 16 companies, is already active in global markets - in many countries taking the lead. In 2004, the 2,500 employees accom-plished a turnover of 242 million Euro, two thirds of which was achieved abroad. For more than 50 years TROX has been the leader in the development and production of components for air conditioning and ventilation technology.
